Shark's Bay

Shark's Bay is a cosy little bay bustling with life about half-way between the airport and Naama Bay. On the west side of the bay are sun umbrellas, sun beds, toilets, showers and a snack restaurant operated by Pyramisa Hotel directly above. At the other end are more litte restaurants, sunbeds and umbrellas though not quite up to the same quality. In between is a row of kiosks with souvenirs, and a jetty with boats operating dive excursions, snorkeling trips, water skiing, para-gliding and even pedalos. The snorkeling here all the way around headland is excellent with lots of colourful and very friendly fish.

Horseback Riding

If you are an early bird and love horses, then take the opportunity to go on a sunrise trip out in the desert or along the beach. There are a couple of stables offering excursion rides. There is nothing nicer than being on horseback in the peaceful desert at dawn, while it is still cool and enjoyable. If dawn is not your thing then there are also sunset rides. Just be honest and let the guide know if you are a novice or experienced, so you are ensured a suitable horse and pace. Concorde Hotel and Sofitel just outside Na’ama Bay have a well run and profession operations and the horses are well looked after. Most rides vary from one to two hours.

Water Skiing & Wakeboarding

If your fancy is more above the waves than under, check out the opportunities for water skiing or wakeboarding. Ten kilometers south of Na’ama Bay is Sharm el Maya is a protected bay with the perfect conditions for skiing. Give wakeboarding a try for fun. You can even take a lesson. Try your luck and attempt to jump through the wake turning 80 degrees. Sun & Fun are located on the beach at Iberotel Palace hotel. Banana rides and intertube rides are also available.

Ice Skating

Believe it or not there is an ice ring in Sharm el Sheik. It is real ice, so it’s really cool, making it a pleasant way to escape the heat during the day. The rink is 300 m2, which is large enough to get some speed up. Ice hockey, figure skating plus sound and light shows are planned for the future. The skates are good quality with a variety of different sizes. You will find a different selection of music being played, for your skating pleasure. There is a snack bar and a few seating areas for you to rest. The rink is situated in the sporting area of the Concorde Hotel on the airport road north of Na’ama bay.

Bowling

Just up the road from the Hard Rock Café is the MAS bowling center. Grab a group of friends (up to eight per lane) and head off for a night of fun and friendly competition. There are six computerized lanes; the facilities are top of the range and to AMF standard. Each player has his or her name programmed into the overhead display so everyone can keep a track of the game. The player has ten throws with a second attempt if a strike is not achieved. There are a variety of weights and sizes of bowling balls, so even kids can play. The center is open from 12:00pm 1:00am every day and is fully air-conditioned. There is also a full bar, along with a variety of snacks. Plus there is a skateboard half pipe and kids corner complete with a climbing area.

Sinai Guide                              St. Katherine Monastery

Set beneath the mountain where Moses is said to have received the Ten Commandments, Saint Catherine Monastery has been one of the world’s great centers of religious pilgrimage for over fifteen centuries. Within its imposing walls rests a citadel like no other, incredibly rich in important religious and historical structures. Among its treasures is a library of ancient manuscripts and icons second only to the Vatican's itself, and a 6th century church reputed to lie directly on the site of the Burning Bush. Quite simply, the monastery is a defining feature of the Holy Land.

The St. Katherine Monastery has 6 main attractions; The Basilica, Chapel of the Burning Bush, Charnel House , Justinian's Wall , The Library and Gallery of Icons, The Mosque

Serabit El-Khadem

undefinedArchaeologists have found that the very earliest known settlers in the Sinai--they arrived about 8,000 years ago--were miners. Drawn by the region's abundant copper and turquoise deposits, these groups slowly worked their way southward, hopping from one deposit to the next. By 3500 BC, the great turquoise veins of Serabit el-Khadem had been discovered.

Pharaoh's Island

undefinedJust a few kilometers south of Taba, at the very top of the Gulf of Aqaba and just a few hundred meters from the coast, lies Pharaoh's Island. Surmounted by the imposing crenellated bulk of the restored citadel of Salah ad-Din, Pharaoh's Island is one of the most blatantly picturesque spots in the entire gulf. While the restored fortifications have firmly imposed a medieval character upon the island, the history of Geziret Faroun in actually one of exceptional complexity and interest.

Feiran Oasis

Few places are as steeped in Biblical mystery as the great Wadi Feiran-the Sinai's largest wadi and one of it's most archeologically important stretches of terrain. It was here, according to locals, scholars, and legend, that Moses struck a rock with his staff, bringing forth a spring so his people could drink.  for Ferian Oasis photos

Ras Mohamed

Ras Mohammed, the extreme tip of the Sinai, has every right to be considered one of the finest dives of the world. Because of its geographic position, the Ras Mohammed peninsula is a privilege area. Mainly because of the powerful streams and currents that bring large quantities of planktons and other food that give rise to an extraordinary growth of stony and soft corals and attract large schools of both reef and pelagic marine fauna. Given the great abundance of food, barracuda, jackfish, tuna and sharks swarm in these waters, offering divers the chance to make extremely interesting and exciting dives.

Nuweiba

undefinedNuweiba is located 70 km south of Taba and 180 km north of Sharm el Sheikh and only 110 km from Saint Katherine. Nuweiba means, “bubbling springs” in Arabic and it is one of the big oases in South Sinai. The 7-km long stretched settlement developed from a barren isolated place with no infrastructure into a promising and attractive tourist destination. Nuweiba is just recently discovered by tourist investors establishing hotels along the coastline south and north of Nuweiba, connecting it with Taba in the north and Dahab in the south. for Nuweiba photos

Taba

At the northernmost edge of the Gulf of Aqaba lies the small town of Taba, a picturesque beach town that in ancient times was once a stopover on the caravan route to the Fort of Aqaba.

Dahab

Dahab means 'gold' in Arabic. In Sinai it means golden sands, turquoise sea and off-beat cafe life. The coral peninsula of Dahab lies between Qura Bay to the south and the smaller Ghazala Bay to the north. Here you can find the most picturesque Bedouin Village in Sinai, Assalah, surrounded by very tall palm trees.
