 DIVE COURSES FOR NEW DIVERS
 

The largest International Recreational Diving organization by far is PADI. Recognised all over the world it is your gateway to ensuring quality diving wherever you are.

At the heart of a PADI course lies the need to ensure your safety and that of others with you, protection of the environment and that teaching should be fun and enjoyable. Course materials are well thought out, easy to follow and get across the message. Courses are well balanced between the academics, equipment training, pool skills and open water experiences.

 
Scuba Diver Course
 

The PADI Scuba Diver program is a pre-entry level certification, which is perfect for people on holiday or who only plan to dive a couple times a year. It can be completed in as little as two days.

The PADI Scuba Diver rating allows you to get on to certification ladder quickly and easily. With the PADI Scuba Diver certification, you can dive under the direct supervision of a PADI Divemaster, Assistant Instructor, Instructor or higher professional on your next holiday or dive trip. This program enables you the wonderful opportunity to explore the underwater world in comfort and safety, knowing you have an experienced guide with you at all times.

The knowledge and skills you learn in this program are just the beginning of an exciting array of courses and programs that await you, you can upgrade your Scuba Diver certification to Open Water Diver at a later time in just two days!


Course Details
Certification:PADI Scuba Diver. Enables you to dive to a maximum depth of 12 meters under direct supervision of a PADI Professional
Duration:2 days
Day 1: Confined water training, theory, knowledge reviews and 10 minute tread water
Day 2:2 open water dives from the shore or from the boat.
Requirements:Min. 10 yrs or older. Medical Statement. Swimmer.

Open Water Course
 

The PADI Open water course is a four day course. Throughout the course you will learn the fundamentals of scuba diving, including dive equipment and techniques. You earn this certification by completing five pool dives and knowledge development sessions and by making four open water dives from the shore or off one of our boats in the beautiful Red Sea. After completion you will be free to dive anywhere in the world along with your buddy!

Certification:PADI Open Water Diver. Enables you to dive to a maximum depth of 18 meters with a buddy independent of a professional guide.
Duration:4 days
Day 1: Theory, knowledge reviews and 10 minute tread water & 200 metre swim test.
Day 2:Five confined water sessions
Day 3: Open Water Dives One and Two
Day 4: Open Water Dives Three & Four, Final Exam

Open Water Referral
 
To accommodate those who wish to do part of the course at home and part here the PADI Open Water course can be done in two parts.

Part 1 with your local PADI Dive Club will cover all the academics, pool sessions and examinations, usually undertaken over evenings and weekends within 6 months of your vacation; preferable just before. This leaves only the 4 open water dives that are completed on this referral course in the comfort and splendour of the warmth and clarity of the Red Sea… considered by many as preferable to the cold quarries and seas available in their homelands.

Scuba Upgrade Course
 

This course enable a PADI Scuba Diver Certified diver to upgrade his/her rating to PADI Open Water Level.

The course is a mixture of academics, pool and open water sessions and is completed in just 2 days. As a PADI Open Water Certified diver you can then enjoy buddy diving without the needs of having an accompanying PADI professional and undertake dives to a depth of 18 metres.

Day 1: Knowledge Reviews 4 & 5, quiz and final exam plus 2 confined water sessions

Discover Scuba Diving
 
The PADI Discover Scuba Diving program let you experience the thrill of diving whilst under the supervision of a PADI Instructor, no previous diving experience needed.

You'll master some basic concepts and scuba skills in the pool and then head off on an open water adventure on one of the beautiful Red Sea reefs. This one day experience program can be credited towards the Scuba Diver or Open Water certification.

Certification:No certification available, just an experience program but can be credited towards PADI Scuba Diver or PADI Open Water Course. Enables you to dive to a maximum depth of 12 meters under direct supervision of a PADI Instructor.
Duration:1 day
Day 1: Theory Video, Quick Quiz, Confined water training, dive in the Red Sea
Requirements:Min 10yrs or older, Medical Statement

Boat Excursions

 

 

 

Almost all diving in Nabq take place from boats and the AQUARIUS fleet of 6 boats are based at the Travco Marina, just south of Old Sharm. Every day the boats leave for trips to the Straight of Tiran, Ras Mohammed National Park or Local dive sites.

Non diving partners and friends can join the boats as passengers for an enjoyable day of catching the rays and bubble watching when the divers take to the water

The Boats
 
The boats are the characteristic Egyptian white wooden boats, that you see all over the Red Sea. Notable vessels include Amir Said, the smallest, which takes about 18-20 divers, though on the other hand you can be sure, that the chef on Amir Said, will cook you one of the best Egyptian meals ever. Galaxy Sharm and Unous Tur are sister ships, Unous Tur being the big sister with a capacity of 35 divers and Galaxy Sharm slightly less at 25 divers.

All boats have to live up to AQUARIUS safety standards, and are equipped with VHF, first aid, oxygen and life jackets. The boat crew will consist of the captain, the cook and 1-2 deckhands. The crews are all Egyptian, who have been working in the Red Sea for ye

The history of sharks dates back millions of years. Mankind's fascination with sharks is a mix of myth and reality, fact and superstition, and it is punctuated with fear of the unknown. Divers appreciate sharks because sharks are intelligent yet primal predators.
